ECO-ZOOM is a non-profit public project aimed at popularizing knowledge about wildlife, animals and plants that need protection or special care.
The developer and coordinator of the project is Non-Governmental Educational Organization «The Training Center for Ecology and Safety».
«The Training Center for Ecology and Safety» is a socially-oriented non-profit organization and the first licensed institution in the Samara region, since 2004, engaged in training specialists in state environmental programs at all levels. At the same time, in accordance with the statutory goals, the training center has always developed environmental and socially significant activities, including with schools and universities in the region.
The mission of the Training Center is education in the field of environmental protection and safe life, promotion of a healthy lifestyle. The vision of its results is that the Samara region will become a place with improved ecology, where community members take care of the nature of their homeland.
In 2021, the Training Center introduced innovative remote technologies into the methodology and practice of nature protection using online monitoring on the Internet. In particular, using camera traps and web cameras to monitor rare animals and the object of study of the Zhiguli Reserve, such as the polchok dormouse (Glis glis). We are constantly working on testing and selecting technical devices that can easily integrate into the natural environment, algorithms for their operation and analytics of the collected data.
Our vision of the mission of this site is to realize the possibility for everyone to have an accessible video surveillance in nature for animals and landscapes-objects of protection and study in order to form the foundations of a scientific worldview, ecological culture, ideas and knowledge about nature, necessary for careful interaction with the surrounding world.
